“The San Floriano Palio” – Jesi, May 8th-10th 2009

May begins with a not to be missed appointment: the so-called “Palio di San Floriano”: it  takes place from May 8th to 10th; it is a recalling of a XIII century event, even if its modern origin is from 1996.
Jesi will be presenting a parade of processions and contests for three days long; the centre of the manifestation is the historical procession where the walkers-on wear various middle-aged costumes passing by the heart of the town;  arch contests and sword duels complete the recalling of past times. Contests finish on the last day of the Palio with the “Ring Ride” and the proclamation of the winning district.
