“Rievocazione Storica Porto Nuovo 1811″ (Historical Commemoration New Port 1811) – Ancona, May 16th-17th ‘09

On May 16th-17th Ancona recalls an event happened in the early XIX century that concerns the newest part of its big port: the entry is free and the programme of the manifestation is structured as follows:

on Saturday 16th 2009

10am: Meeting place at the Area ex Adriatic Camping:
Military historical campsite with everyday life moments in New Port in the early XIX century. Visitors are allowed to enter.

11am: Shows Grand Opening: “memories from the sea”, historical finds exhibition, Adriatic fishing traditions and techniques”.

“Ancona New Port”, images and documents of the Bay through the ages

12am: Meeting-aperitif with the artists participating in the painting extemporaneous: “Portonovo and its History”.

6pm: “The gunners’ salary” a two acts Comedy played in the Anconian vernacular.

on Sunday 17th 2009

10am: Portonovo Bay: The Historical Commemoration: Porto Nuovo 1811: “the going ashore”. A simulation of the English navy’s going ashore and the gunfight against the Fort garrison.

1pm: at the ex Adriatic Camping Area: “The soldier’s ration”
(reserved to Authorities, Promoters and Hosts).

3pm : Reply of the two acts Comedy “the gunners’ salary”.

THERE MAY BE MODIFICATIONS IN CASE OF BAD WEATHER CONDITIONS; ALL THE EVENTS – EXCEPT THE COMMEMORATION – WILL TAKE PLACE IN THE EX ADRIATIC CAMPING AREA (IN FRONT OF THE LITTLE LAKE).
